PORTLAND, OR – September 23, 2010 – Oregon is known for our Pinot Noir wine and the dream of a privately labeled wine may be the ultimate adventure for wine lovers. One lucky bidder will be able to achieve that dream as they have the chance to purchase a custom barrel of Oregon Pinot Noir wine that will yield about 325 bottles of their very own vintage.
This is just one of the eleven items announced today in the live auction catalog for 10-10-10 Portland’s Charity Gala. The event will also feature a silent auction with dozens more items and a special opportunity from event sponsor Tiffany & co. that promises to provide some added intrigue for bidders.
The 10-10-10 Portland Charity Gala, Oct. 10, 2010, which is a benefit for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, will raise funds to fight Leukemia in children, the most common form of cancer affecting children. The evening includes the first Portland Chef Face-off, in which ten of Portland’s top chefs compete for the votes of audience members in an American Idol meets Iron Chef food challenge. Three-time Grammy Award Nominee Vanessa Carlton closes out the evening with a live concert.
Live Auction Catalog Announced
The live auction represents 11 packages that are sure to be hotly contested among bidders for their unique qualities.
The eleven packages being offered in the live auction are:
– A custom crafted barrel of Oregon Pinot Noir from Stormy Morning Vineyards and Ribera winery. This incredible offering includes 1,100 pounds of grapes which the bidder can watch being harvested and crushed and then all services to create the wine. The end result is a private labeled bottling of approximately 325 bottles of premium Oregon Pinot Noir.
– A cycling jersey autographed by seven-time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong. The jersey bears the logo of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training program.
– Two tickets to the 2011 Masters Golf Tournament. This very hard to acquire package includes first-class airfare and hotel accommodations during the final weekend of the tournament.
– A package of two tickets to the 2011 Grammy Awards and after-party, including air-fare and hotel to the event.
– Two unrestricted round-trip airline tickets from event sponsor Alaska Airlines
– A children’s bedroom decoration package that includes a custom door (with a very cute puppy dog on it), painting, toys and custom painting by Vivid Hue painting.
– A private wine-maker dinner for 12 at the Bill and Mary Lowblad’s Stormy Morning Vineyard Homestead in Banks. The new residence overlooking the vineyard features an open lodge-like great-room and show-place kitchen where dinner will be created by the winning chef in the Portland Chef Face-off and wine will be supplied by Ribera Vineyards.
– A cocktail reception including wine, cheese and heavy hors d’oeuvres for 40 people at the Thirst Wine Bar on Portland’s Riverwalk.
– A reception of wine, cheese and charcuterie for 20 people at Irving Street Kitchen in Portland’s Pearl District, featuring Portland Chef Face-off competitor Sarah Schafer.
– A seven night stay at a beautiful three-bedroom home in Bali, Indonesia. This package includes massages for eight people and breakfast each day for eight people.
– Dinner and wine for twelve at Portland’s Genoa Restaurant, featuring Portland Chef Face-off competitor Chef David Anderson.

While the live auction is intended to showcase a few of the items available, the silent auction will offer more great packages for bidding at the 10-10-10 event. The silent auction catalog includes more dinners from Portland Chef Face-off chefs, hotel and travel packages, and tickets to events such as the 2011 Kentucky Derby and Ellen DeGeneres show.
Tiffany & co. Offers Mystery Event
Event sponsor Tiffany & co. will also provide the very unique “mystery box” event during the evening. Attendees will be able to purchase Tiffany & co. ceramic boxes. The wrapped boxes will be delivered during the live auction. One lucky purchaser will have received a special crystal box in their wrapped package. This lucky purchaser will then have won matching his and hers Tiffany & co. watches (valued at ~$5,000 total).
