What kind of food and wine is included in the ticket price? In addition to the 10 tastes (or bites) for our competition chefs, we will be serving additional food to round out the meal. We will be pouring Ribera Pinot Noir, Apolloni Pinot Grigio, and Widmer Beer. Wine and beer is included in your ticket price.
Who is your Master of Ceremonies? We are very honored to have Dave Anderson of the Mark and Dave Show and AM Northwest as the our Master of Ceremonies. We selected Dave because he is funny and although Leukemia is not funny, we think that an evening of celebration of the positives is a good thing.
Who is your headline entertainment? Three-time Grammy Nominee Vanessa Carlton will perform live at 8:00PM to round out the evening. She will play solo-piano and is scheduled to perform for approximately one hour. We are so looking forward to having her here in Portland, as she is an amazing artist and performer.
Who is spinning up the tunes? The tunes during the evening will be brought to us by one of the best DJs in the country, DJ Quantum from Oakland, California. DJ Quantum has been a professional DJ for more than 10 years and he is known to throw down some mean jams.
Who are the event’s sponsors? We are so thankful for the participation of our major sponsors — Tiffany & co., Alaska Airlines, and KINK FM. Our In-kind Sponsors are — Power Balance, Widmer Brewing, Ribera Winery, Apolloni Winery and CMD.
What is the Tiffany & co. Mystery Box Event? Tiffany & co. is bringing us very unique part of the evening. Guests will have the opportunity to purchase one of 100 gift-wrapped porcelain boxes. Here’s the catch: when the boxes are unwrapped, one of them will be a crystal box. The person with the crystal box wins matching Tiffany & co. watches valued at approximately $5,000.
What is up for bid in the live and silent auction? We are offering almost 70 packages for sale in our live and silent auction, including some incredibly unique items. This is your chance to purchase an autographed Lance Armstrong Team In Training cycling jersey, numerous dinners from our competition chefs, a custom crafted-barrel of Pinot Noir Wine, tickets to the 2011 Grammy Awards and the Masters and many other items.
Can I bid in the auction if I’m not at the event? Yes. You may make an offer to the auctioneer in advance of bidding. You will be required to register your credit card in our system and we will issue you a bidder number. Then your maximum bid will be entered at the appropriate time. Of course, if you are outbid, you have no way to respond, so it is better to be at the auction in person. Contact us if you need more information.
Why aren’t you coming? You really should be. This is going to be one amazing event and we’d love to have you. Purchase your tickets today.
See you on 10-10-10!
